Whilst most people’s thoughts were turning to mistletoe and turkey, we took advantage of a very rare break in the wet weather to undertake the swap-out of a pair of dry coolers on the roof of Bermondsey Underground Station.
The original units were encased within extremely heavy-duty tensioned stainless steel mesh cages and these had to be carefully partially dismantled to allow crane access and then of course, replaced.
With assistance from Southwark Borough Council, we and our regular crane operations supplier arranged for the necessary permits and licences to be obtained to allow the adjacent road to be closed to traffic with minimal inconvenience to residents or road users.
Again, we are pleased to say that works were completed and all locational assets were giving beneficial duty by the end of the weekend.
