Conair UK Ltd have been successfully carrying out works to retro-fit components to existing R22 equipment at the eleven stations on London Underground’s Jubilee Line Extension.
This £300K+ project saw the complete replacement of various internal components including compressors, plate heat exchangers, thermal expansion valves, plus the fitting of new pressure differential sensors in line with the addition of up-to-the-minute control systems.
Once ready, the systems were charged with the more environmentally friendly R410a Refrigerant Gas.
With the existing units reaching the end of their designed lifespan and with the imminent phase-out of R22 looming, this retro-fit sees the equipment now not only compliant with new F-Gas regulations, but also given a new lease of life and the ability to go on serving the client more efficiently, well into the future.
To ensure that minimal down-time affected units in temperature critical areas, round-the-clock working was carried out and in most cases, units were able to be re-commissioned and put back into service within just 12 hours!
